AI is not a Feature: Notes from the Watt House

Recently, one developer used AI to create an open-source version of  Adobe’s suite of products, which is effectively the same as saying they are free for end users. The suite is called ArtCraft and while it’s still being refined, it remains a shot across the bow of any enterprise software platform. The trend is build your own.

"Software is over": Developer uses AI to build free Adobe clones after frustration with cancellation fees

Keep that in mind and go read the following study from Front Office Sports and Teamworks.

https://frontofficesports.com/article/the-state-of-ai-in-sports-2026/

It’s not a bullshit article or a disregard for the truth, but it does seek to steer you away.  The obvious next step is the one the article is unwilling to take.  The ROI will come when you replace your enterprise software tools with team-owned infrastructure.  What is listed as gaps will also be filled with an LLM derived solutions internal to your organization.

As Tim from our team pointed out after reading the article, “the top things orgs want from ai are accuracy, reliability, and data security.  All of those point at what we’re trying to do: reliable hardware, accurate data the organization itself owns, and an API that plugs into whatever they are building so they can get what they need from us.”

At EliteForm, we see the new norm for organizations in this way:

Team-owned data systems > AI/API layer > best in class hardware solutions > AI/API > Return to Team-Owned System.

AI is not a feature. It is the means by which software gets democratized. You’ll own the software systems for far less money.  We’ll provide you with great hardware that slots in seamlessly.

That’s the end point for your ROI.
